#158598 by JirkaRybka: a massive collection of bug fixes, D6 upgrades, and performance / usability improvements and other tasks for the category package. This commit includes patches from the following threads:

Updated INSTALL.txt file: DB install instructions no longer needed (.install files handle this automatically), and category_legacy menu structure has changed. Also updated CREDITS.txt: added a list of contrib module maintainers (with Dave Cohen as the maintainer of cac_lite).

#45140 by scott_dft: change installation instructions to require enabling the category module before installing the taxonomy wrapper. If taxonomy wrapper is enabled before category, PHP fatal error occurs (and since taxonomy may already be enabled, this is quite likely).
