// $Id:$ (For installation instructions, please see INSTALL.txt) Democracy forum --------------- This module together with additional modules enables features suitable for e-democracy work. The functionality is centered around a set of content types: - Binary poll or ranking poll. When given a "council date" they will be displayed as an "council issue" which users can vote on. - Proposals. - Arguments. Can be added to polls and proposals. - Forum topic. Used for various discussions. Below is a list with features grouped by the respective module implementing them. * Advanced Poll - Advanced voting capabilities. * Pro and Con - Enables "pro" and "con" argumentation on content, which makes it easy to compare different arguments on a subject. * Fivestar - Makes it possible to rate "pro" and "con" arguments. High rated arguments will be displayed higher up than low rated arguments. * Forum - Basic forum functionality with discussions around topics. * Democracy forum (this module) - Adds a new content type called "proposal" that can have different statuses (e.g. "draft" or "archived"). The statuses provided can be changed and the ones installed only serves as examples. - Creates a default forum called "open discussion", again only as an example. - Adds two extra fields to polls: "Council result" and "Link to decision". - Makes it possible to group polls by "council date". Polls with the same council date will get their own page which lists the winning result for each poll calculated from the votes on the site, as well as council result and link to decision if provided. These results are only displayed when the council date has passed. - Adds two blocks that can be used when viewing a poll: "Related council issues" and "Council status". "Related council issues" will list polls of the same council date and also display if the user has voted on the poll. "Council status" displays a stats message based on the council date, e.g. "One week left" or "Archived". - Provides a default frontpage for the features listed above which displays council issues (polls), forums, arguments and proposals.
